One of my customers is selling special batteries which he is buying for a few cents over the internet. Just imagine, if you would have an expensive and very special electronic device and the only thing that is missing would be the appropriate battery. Wouldn't you for example pay 9$ for it. Exactly that works very well online and the sales-margins are gigantic.
Koi-Food is also very cheap for purchase and even cheaper if one dealer is buying large quantities and later packs them into manageable portions.
Because Kois are a very expensive species, one fish can cost up to several $10,000, such an offer is more something for wealthy customers who are used to spend some extra money for their precious fishes.
Other perfect examples are videos, music or expertise that you can provide in a purely digital manner for download. This kind of product you can replicate any number of times at no cost. In addition, there are no shortages and/or delivery delays!
But how are you going to find out whether your product or your services will really find sufficient buyers or not? To find this out you will find a few sophisticated and even free tools online.
Albeit they are somehow hidden and thought to be for insiders only, those great tools will, relaying on real search and purchasing history, provide you with the matter of fact demand which all of us are looking for.

- With exactly which keywords am I primarily found on major search engines like Google, Yahoo or Bing?
- Which sites link to my shop and how are they developing?
- How does my average customers navigate through my shop and where are the virtual traps?
- What kind of equipment are my customers using mostly!
- Where do my customers come from? From which countries, from what regions and from which cities.
Whenever I'm telling the participants of my seminars what exactly that I know about the visitors of my web site, there is a great murmuring spreading throughout the auditorium.
Even though that it sound perhaps almost unbelievable, but with the knowledge that you will find in my reports and/or in my tutorials, you will be able to tell exactly from which page that your visitor was navigating onto your site and exactly which keywords and/or key phrases has caught their attention.
You can see which ISP and what bandwidth they are using and exactly where on your site some of you visitors usually cancel their visit and navigate away from your site.

Outside of Niches it will be difficult for you and for anybody else to launch a successful web shop. We hardly can compete with all round portals like eBay, amazon and others. The online millionaires I mentioned earlier have become successful in segments where the big players did not sense large enough a business and therefore did or do not participate in the trade.
Many would consider a web shop that deals with products of daily use as below their level of education, below their level of reputation and/or below their level of interest. Most interestingly these are often the same people who later envy those who are successful in one of such under rated fields of business.
You cannot overspecialize! Perhaps you don't believe this statement but please consider for a second. Would you like to have 50% of a market of 1 Million potential customers or would you like to have 1% of a market of 20 Million potential customers? Or in other terms, would you like to rank on a position between 1 and 6 in search engines or would you like to rank on position 146 if someone types in your keywords?
I know about one guy who started his web business with selling aquaristik accessories and was only moderately successful. Too overwhelming was the competition, too complex were the logistics to store thousand of items.
To reach a good position in major search engines with general search terms like Aquarium was due to the large competition almost impossible. Only when he began to specialize to koi-accessories could he multiply his turnover to over $20'000 per month. Albeit this is a respectable amount, he finally made it to become a millionaire when he began to trade piranha-food. If you type piranha-food" into your search engine you will find his business permanently on one of the top-positions that are considered to be on from position 1 to position 6.
Parallely to the top-ranking in major search engines his turnover exploded and many would be surprised to find out how much piranha-food is being sold over the Internet nowadays. The rule is:
The more you specialize the greater will be your success !
Just have a quick look at the following chart and you will see that much more people are searching for cat-food und fish-food but the level of competition is huge, while the level of competition for piranha-food is almost zero and thus, albeit the market is much smaller, you not only have it practically all, but you keep them all as well which is even more important in the long run.

Someone else who is known as an internet millionaire had originally launched his web-business with photo-accessories but ultimately had to compete with some of the giants of e-commerce like Expansys, Amazon, eBay and others which was an enterprise to no avail. In need of new ideas he started to specialize to photo accessories for black & white photography, obviously a niche of which many would assume that it's a long dead market. But even this specialization was not sufficient for a big break-through.
Only when he concentrated to market special gray-scale-cards that allow black & white enthusiasts to assign gray-scales to their photographs, he became a millionaire with a turnover of over $4'000'000 per year. By the way such gray-scale-cards sell with a huge sales-margin and is a world-wide business. A very successful business indeed.
As mentioned earlier, there is an almost endless number of examples in almost as many different fields of business. Just that one to show that nothing is too far fetched as long as it is a real niche. One guy in Germany is even making several hundred thousands of Dollars with personalized baby flasks :-)
5. Create Your Own Email Opt-In List!
A good friend of mine with a very successful business in Canada earns regularly a lot of money, in order to send email newsletters to over 500'000 subscribers. He provides them with real added value and says that : Alone with his newsletter he earns each year ap-proximately 2 Million Dollars.
If you divide this amount through the number of subscribers, each subscriber is worth an average of $4 per year and even if you reach only 10,000 subscribers, that means for you an additional and risk-free income of $40'000 per year.
There still remains the question why that only few newsletters are only truly successful? There are mainly the following two reason to prevent a newsletter from being a success:
1. The readiness of site visitors to leave their email address has been dropping for years and is now as low as never before. Too great is the fear of users to become victims of spammers. Only someone who is providing his subscribers with real added value and/or really interesting information, and only if the subscribers feel the same way, can successfully convert his mailing list into a good and regular additional income. There are many signals to be set that your visitor is really going to op-in to your list.
2. Many website operators fail to build their newsletter in a manner that is really going to boost their sales. Again their is always at least one certain way to fail, which is not to do it, to do nothing at all.

6. Generate More Than Just One Cash-Stream For Your Business!
Nothing prevents you from making more than $ 100'000 a year with your Internet business To make your website a real Cash-Cow and fully exploit it's potential, there are numerous methods. Many web sites earn much more money with "Secondary Cash-Streams" than from sales of their primary product or services.
The four cash streams that make the difference between web businesses that are optimized for profit and others that are not are, in order of their relevance, the follows :
1. Profits from primary products. That are the products which you are going to advertise, the ones with which which you are going to attract traffic to your site primarily.
2. Cash from advertising, but not from selling, other products that are related to your business and thus are likely from interest for you own target group. ( Related Affiliate Products )
3. Cash from advertising, but not from selling, other products that are not related to your business but that can be considered and/or are proven to be useful for someone. ( Affiliate Products )
4. Cash from marketing your high traffic, for example by selling advertising space, for example with AdSense by Google or if someone is especially lucky, by selling the entire business. If you know how to build a web business once, you can easily re peat it at any time in the future.
For advertising third party products to your customers, third party providers will pay you whopping commissions and this entirely risk free. This since you will be paid for channeling customers to a third party's website, while the sales are still performed entirely by the third party provider.
One example would be if an online-shop for computers would join affiliate programs software of various kind and/or teaching materials like books or tutorials for computer skills.
The marketing of products that are not directly related to your web shop and/or not of specific interests to your audience needs to be considered very carefully.
To include such non-related offers in you newsletters you have to make absolutely certain that the offers contain a genuine value and that the offers are keeping up with their promises at all times.
Further there should be no hidden hooks and the content and/or nature of such an offer should offend nobody as far as it can be predicted.
The marketing of advertising space is another possible source of income, which must be considered at least as carefully as the marketing of third party products.
After all, your store should not look like a brightly blinking banner cemetery. On the other hand, if third party ads are implemented skillfully and professionally, this can still be a valuable instrument to make handsome profits.
By far the best part of it is, that you don't have to acquire, not even one of your partners, actively by yourself. There have been for many years plenty of successful partner networks.
Usually you register only once and then you will have access to an almost infinite number of affiliate offers in a great variety of fields and in most of the commonly spoken languages.
I'm not aware of one ex-ample where one would have to pay an installation fee. So far there are no known or hidden risks coming with this type of marketing tool.
